Write for us
Western Living Review welcomes clear, original pitches about rooms, household objects, care, domestic history and the customs of home. A strong proposal starts with a specific question and gives readers a fresh way to understand an ordinary part of domestic life.
What to pitch
We consider explanatory pieces, thoughtful comparisons, histories, close readings of household objects and practical essays about everyday home use. The strongest ideas have a defined reader, a distinct point and a scope that can be handled accurately without relying on unsupported claims or specialist instructions.
What to include
Briefly describe the proposed piece, its central idea, why it suits Western Living Review and the approach you would take. Mention relevant experience only where it helps us assess the pitch; do not send confidential material or assume that a proposal has been accepted.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please pitch the idea rather than submitting a finished article unless we have asked for one. We cannot promise a response to every proposal.
